Welcome to MySportLeagues! This guide walks you through everything you can do as a member: joining communities, staying in the loop with notifications, playing in leagues and ladders, booking courts, and RSVPing to open play.
Important: This website is based on Communities (clubs). Everything, including leagues, challenge ladders, teams, court reservations and open play, happens inside a community. To take part, you first join a community. Once you are a member, you can join anything that community runs.
Community admins can add players who have not signed up yet (these show as "Managed" members). If your admin sends you a claim link, open it, choose a username (or keep the one given) and set a password. The account, with all your match history, is then yours. Claim links expire after 7 days, so ask your admin for a new one if yours has run out.
Please read this one. MySportLeagues does not email you about invitations, league updates, posts or messages. It sends push notifications to your browser or phone instead. If notifications are off, you will miss invites and news unless you happen to check the site.
Notifications are set up per device. Repeat these steps on your phone, laptop and tablet if you want alerts on all of them. Your dashboard's "Notifications" card shows whether the device you are using is set up.
On the same page, under "Notification Types", switch each type on or off:
The News Feed and Messages pages show a small On / Off bell so you can see at a glance whether you will be notified.
If you once clicked "Block", the browser will not ask again. Click the lock icon to the left of the website address, find Notifications, change it to Allow, then refresh the page. Microsoft Edge users may need to add the site under Settings → Privacy / Site Permissions → Notifications. The Notifications page has step-by-step help for this.
Only public communities appear in Explore. Private communities can only be joined with an invite link from their admin.
When you join you can tick "Receive Community Emails". This lets the community's admins include you when they email announcements, and means they can see your email address. You can change this any time with the "Receive Emails" switch under "My Membership" on the community page.
Want to run your own club? Click "Create New" in the Communities card on your dashboard. You become its admin. See the Admin Guide for what comes next.
On the community page, under "My Membership", click "Leave Community".
The dashboard is your home page after signing in. Each card gives you a quick view and a link to the full page.
Click a community on your dashboard to open its page. This is the hub for that club:
Some leagues and ladders are team based (including fixed-partner doubles). To play in those, you need to be on a team in that community.
You do not have to wait for invitations to be accepted before entering your team in leagues and ladders.
Captains can edit the team's name, description and avatar, invite members, remove members, promote another member to captain or demote a captain, and delete the team. Captains also enter the team into team leagues and ladders. If you want to leave a team, ask your captain or a community admin to remove you.
Leagues are organised competitions with a fixed set of matches. They can be played in one day or over a season. Open one from "Leagues" under Community Activities.
Some leagues are run by admins who add players directly, in which case you will simply appear in the league.
Entered a wrong score? Ask a community admin. They can edit or delete a completed match. When the last match is played, the champion is crowned on the league page and announced in the news feed.
A challenge ladder is an ongoing ranking that players run themselves. Challenge anyone ranked above you; beat them and you take their place. Open one from "Ladders" under Community Activities.
If your community has turned on reservations, you can book its courts online. Open the community page and click "Reservations" under Community Activities.
Your community sets two limits: how many days ahead you can book, and how many upcoming reservations you can hold at once. If you hit a limit, the site tells you. Courts used for open play cannot be booked during those sessions.
Press Accept or Decline on your dashboard, or click the reservation on the Reservations grid and answer there. Accepted reservations show up under "My Reservations" and on your dashboard. You can change your answer later from the same popup.
"My Reservations" on the Reservations page lists everything coming up. To cancel a booking, click the trash icon next to it, or open it on the grid and click "Cancel reservation". Everyone you invited is told it was cancelled.
Open play sessions are regular drop-in times set by your community (for example "Saturday Morning Round Robin"). Anyone in the community can come.
Your RSVP covers the whole session on that date, across all of its courts. You can change it any time before the session ends.
Click your name in the top navigation bar to open your profile. From there you can:
Open the Notifications page on that device. Check that it says "Notifications Enabled", that the type you want is switched on, and that your browser has not blocked the site (see Notifications). Remember each device has to be enabled separately.
Check spam, then try to sign in and click "Resend Email?".
You need to be a member of that community first. If you requested to join, wait for an admin to approve you.
You need to be on a team in that community. Create one or ask a captain to invite you (see Teams).
You may have reached your community's limit on upcoming bookings or how far ahead you can book, the slot may be taken or set aside for open play, or reservations may be turned off for that community.
Ask one of your community's admins to fix it.
